Founded in 2016, the Civic Orchestra of Jacksonville is a 501(C)3 not-for-profit community orchestra. We are sixty-plus avid musicians— professionals, skilled amateurs, and talented students aged 18 to 88. We’re of Jacksonville, but we’re from all over the First Coast! Some of us live in JAX neighborhoods such as Mandarin, Southside, Northside Downtown and Riverside. Others come from Orange Park, Doctors Inlet, Penney Farms, Ponte Vedra, Fleming Island, the Beaches, St Augustine and even Waycross, Georgia. We’re diverse—ethnically and vocationally. Among us you’ll find schoolteachers, engineers, stay-at-home parents, academics, pastors, computer technicians, graphic designers, artists, first-responders, weavers, nurses, members of the military, accountants, consultants, physicists, and physicians.
